The silver boliviano used to be the legal tender in Bolivia till 1906. Until 1927 there was allowed to use british and peruan gold coins. In 1963 the bolivian peso replaced the boliviano at 1:1000 ratio, and in 1987 the boliviano replaced back the the peso at 1:1.000.000 ratio. 1 boliviano equals 100 centavos.
